Cases Smart Surveillance for a Safer Aalst
Police Zone Aalst has implemented a next generation CCTV infrastructure with a clear mission: strengthening safety across the city through faster, more informed decision making. The vision is straightforward: create an environment where operators receive the right information at the right moment. This enables them to respond quickly, coordinate effectively, and maintain full situational awareness.
Today, 244 high performance CCTV cameras are active across 54 strategically selected locations. The camera network provides extensive visual coverage of key locations throughout the city centre, supporting incident detection, monitoring, and investigations. Live camera feeds are available through the video management platform, supporting both real-time interventions and post-incident investigations. This enables operators to respond quickly, coordinate effectively, and gain valuable real-time insight into incidents as they unfold.
Insight
Camera feeds are monitored in a centralized 24/7 control room, providing operators with continuous visibility of key locations across the city centre and other monitored areas. The system is designed for ease of use and instant insight, allowing teams to shift from passive monitoring to proactive management as situations evolve.Result
