System Specialist

Job description

Working within the Operations Department, you'll maintain, improve and deliver mission-critical Voice, Video and Network solutions used by public authorities, transport operators and critical infrastructures.

You'll combine strong operational expertise with project delivery capabilities, taking ownership of complex technical activities across customer environments.

Through advanced support, upgrades and project work, you'll improve system reliability while developing deeper expertise in critical communication technologies.

What you'll do...

Your mission:

• Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd line support for mission-critical customer environments.
• Investigate and resolve complex incidents across network, voice, video, virtualization and infrastructure domains.
• Perform system upgrades, migrations and lifecycle management activities.
• Support customer projects from solution validation through installation, commissioning and handover.
• Lead technical implementation activities during deployments and major changes.
• Identify recurring issues and propose structural improvements to systems and services.
• Prepare, test and validate solutions in the lab before customer deployment.
• Maintain technical documentation, procedures and operational standards.
• Coach System Engineers during troubleshooting, maintenance and project activities, and support their technical development.

As a System Specialist, you’ll deepen your expertise in:

• Enterprise Networking (Switching, Routing, TCP/IP and Security)
• Virtualization Platforms (VMware, Nutanix and related technologies)
• Windows & Linux Infrastructure
• Voice Communication Systems
• Video Management & Surveillance Solutions
• Advanced Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
• Technical Project Delivery and Customer Interaction

What we're looking for...

Education, Knowledge & Work Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, ICT, Networking or a related technical field.
• Typically, 3 to 7 years of relevant experience supporting and implementing complex technical solutions.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot multi-domain environments and take ownership of technical activities.

• Fluent in Dutch and/or French, with a good command of English.
• Customer-oriented with strong communication skills with both users and technical teams.
• Analytical, proactive and solution-driven, with the ability to work independently.
• Structured and comfortable managing multiple technical priorities.
• Enjoys sharing knowledge, coaching System Engineers and helping colleagues grow technically.
• A Plus? Relevant industry certifications, experience in mission-critical environments, automation or scripting, and knowledge of cyber security principles.
